Even Twelve Years After His Death, DaGrin Lives On! 🕊

Cited as one of the pioneers of dialect rap singers of Yoruba language and Pidgin, Oladapo Olaonipekun, a.k.a DaGrin paved way for a lot of Nigerian artistes doing great in the music industry today.

Before rappers like Olamide, Ladipoe, Ycee came into the spotlight, the super talented rapper whose rapping talents knew no bounds had been making waves.

Having won the hearts of many Nigerians through his hit album, C.E.O (short for Chief Executive Omo-Ita) Barack O’Grin proved he was a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry and a rap legend people would talk about for decades.

On April 14, 2010, His newly acquired Nissan Maxima rammed into a stationary truck at night in front of the Alakara Police Station in Mushin, Lagos. Some reports claim He was drunk, but those reports remain unproven. He went into a coma as a result of the collision.

On April 22, 2010, He passed away at the age of 25 after succumbing to injuries sustained in a car accident.

His death remains one of the biggest tragedies in the Nigerian music industry as his death shocked Nigerians and his fans alike.

Many members of the music industry came together to compose an ever green song to mourn his death and to forever remember him.

DaGrin isn’t dead. DaGrin lives. His legacy is intact.

We’ll Never Forget. 🕊💐💐
